Western Water Works Supply Company, Inc. is a distributor of waterworks materials and products that are used in the transmission of potable water.
After World War II, Ben Duke, Hugh Lawson and Walter Weight perceived the need for a local distributor of waterworks products and materials in Southern California. These three gentlemen, who each had extensive backgrounds in the water industry, formed the first waterworks distributor in Southern California in 1945.
As the company grew and progressed, Ben Duke eventually became and was the majority owner until his death in 1970.
In 1970 Ben’s wife, Ethel Duke, who had been active in the company from its inception became the majority owner. As a woman business owner, she was a role model and pioneer in an industry that was dominated by men.
